Books

As a freelance developmental editor, I take books from argument to structure to voice — cover to cover, alongside the author. Before that, as senior acquisitions editor at The MIT Press (2016–2023), I built the physical sciences, engineering, and mathematics list — signing and shepherding 100+ titles by authors at MIT, Harvard, Stanford, Berkeley, and the national labs — and helped launch children's publishing with MIT Kids Press, the Press's imprint with Candlewick.

Physics Today

Nine years as associate editor and books column editor at Physics Today, the flagship magazine of the American Institute of Physics — 140+ bylined articles on STEM education, industrial R&D, healthcare, and international science. Founded and edited Bookends, the magazine's first books blog, home to Q&As with prominent physicists including future Nobel laureate Anton Zeilinger. Selected features:

Before editing science, I did science — seven years in chemical engineering and biophysics labs, from silica-particle synthesis and nanofiltration membranes to the thermodynamics of actin polymerization.
